Do you need this cleanse?
Cleansing the liver and gallbladder is one of the most important steps you can take to improve your health. It is highly recommended for those suffering from allergies or allergy related problems such as eczema or asthma, and for anyone who has used prescription or OTC meds, as these will congest the liver greatly. This cleanse requires 6 days of preparation followed by 16-20 hours of actual cleansing. You will need to make sure to stay home on the evening of Day 6 and the morning of day 7. (Friday night – Saturday morning are usually how my family plans it)
Now… from my personal experience, I have done this cleanse about 12 times over the past 10 years, and passed HUNDREDS of gallstones in the process, each time. Seriously, if you’ve ever been on any meds at all, ever eaten any trans fat or seed oils, or ever been an OVER-eater, you for sure have gallstones, sludge, and liver toxins.
I recommend you consult your physician before attempting this protocol. I do NOT recommend any cleansing of any kind if you are pregnant or nursing, as the baby will receive the toxins your body is releasing.
Here are some common signs of an overloaded and/or toxic liver. I know this list is a bit long, but please share which of these are your biggest problems.

What You’ll Need
To start a simple liver cleanse, this is what you will need:
– Malic acid is included in our bundle–
- optional- apple juice to mix with the malic acid instead of water
- Magnesium salts (included in the bundle) –
– 1/2 Cup of organic cold pressed extra Virgin Olive Oil (included in the premium bundle)
-1 big grapefruit, or 2 lemons and 1 orange (lemons and orange only if you cannot use grapefruit because of certain medications)
-One bottle Detox Tincture (included in the bundle)
Supplements for Liver Support
There are a few supplements I recommend using daily during and after this cleanse.
During the liver flush, you’ll use 60 drops a day of this tincture, mixed into a qt of water with your malic acid (1-3 tsp of malic acid added daily). When you finish the flush, I recommend you continue with one daily maintenance dose of 20 drops of the detox tincture.
Let’s chat for a sec about why it’s so important to support your liver.
When the liver processes toxic compounds, it has an uncanny ability to transform them into non-toxic, water soluble molecules that pass right through our bodies. There isn’t another time in history that our detoxification systems have faced the workload that they do now. Our bodies are burdened by everything from heavy metals to PFAS (which can interfere with the production of hormones), all types of pesticides, pharmaceuticals, and more. That’s why I take steps to support my liver’s efforts by reducing my chemical body burden, optimizing my detox pathways, and of course by taking this Detox Tincture.
A few of the amazing ingredients:
Milk Thistle
It has been used as a potent yet gentle liver tonic since at least the 1st century, when Pliny the Elder wrote that it was “excellent for carrying off bile.”
Bile is one of the primary ways the liver pushes toxins toward the colon so they can be flushed out of the body.
It’s thought to support detoxification in a few different ways including:
• Neutralizing free radicals created during the first phase of liver detoxification, which is when the liver breaks down fat-soluble toxins into water soluble ones. (If free radicals are not neutralized, they can build up can cause damage)
• Activating the Nrf2 pathway, which encourages the production of the body’s master antioxidant: glutathione. Glutathione also happens to be a primary detoxifying molecule needed for phase 2 of liver detoxification.
• Stimulating the release of bile and enzymes from the gallbladder so that nutrients can be absorbed and toxins can be emptied into the colon for elimination
Dandelion
Something weird but true thing about bitter herbs like dandelion:
When our taste buds detect bitter compounds, they recognize the taste as being potentially poisonous. As a result our systems go into full alert and digestive juices start flowing in order to mitigate any poisons entering our system.
In other words, the bitter compounds in some herbs get our digestive systems all revved up, which increases our ability to absorb and use the nutrients we are taking. Plus, instead of being poisonous, dandelion root contains a wide variety of detoxification supporting compounds that encourage healthy bile function and support the liver and gallbladder.
Burdock Root
Traditionally used for a variety of purposes – even as an aphrodisiac – it contains a wide range phytochemicals that support:
• Lymph flow, which carries waste products (toxins, hormone byproducts, etc.) and destroyed pathogens into the bloodstream so they can be filtered out by the liver and kidneys
• Liver detoxification – Burdock is known as a tried-and-true liver and skin tonic due the presence of compounds that help maintain the oxidative/antioxidative balance in the liver. This is especially important during phase 1 of detox.
• Bile flow – Although I think it has a mostly nutty flavor, burdock root also contains bitter compounds that encourage the production of bile. In Phase II of liver detoxification, bile binds with the toxins and then flows into the bowels for elimination.
Turmeric
• Counteracts free radicals created during Phase 1 of liver detox. One compound in particular – curcumin – is a potent antioxidant that has been widely used in clinical settings.
• Making glutathione, which is both the body’s master antioxidant and a vital detoxifier molecule used in Phase 2 of liver detox.
2- Digestive Enzymes (optional)
Digestive enzymes go hand-in-hand with eating the right foods. The right enzymes help your body break down and properly absorb the proteins, fats, and carbs in your food, in turn helping to keep your liver and gallbladder functioning well.
Please also be following these protocols with each of our programs to keep your detox pathways open.
Dietary instructions
During the entire week of preparation and cleansing:
Avoid foods and beverages that are cold, as they chill the liver and reduce effectiveness of the cleanse.
Avoid fried foods and foods with hydrogenated oils
Avoid refined sugars or white flour of any kind.
No soda or sweetened beverages
No alcohol
No instant cereals or cold cereals
No dairy products (including milk, cheese, half and half, sour cream, dairy kefir, etc) (eggs are NOT dairy, and are ok to eat)
I realize that these restrictions may be tough for some, but it is an important step of ensuring the success of this cleanse. I actually eat this way most of the time in my day-to-day life, and always regret cheating because I feel the physical effects immediately. It’s interesting how when you eat right, you notice the effects so much more when you waver.
Preparing to flush, Days 1-6.
For 6 days before your liver flush, You will mix your prep drink as follows-
Mix 2 teaspoons of malic acid into 4 cups of water in a 1qt sized jar, and add 3 dropperfuls of the Detox Tincture.
You will drink from this throughout the day, finishing it before the end of the day, and mix a new one each morning. Try to avoid drinking it for 30 minutes before, and 2 hrs after meals, and in the evening. It is most effective if drnk between meals and on an empty stomach.
This has a slight flushing effect on the liver, and some people experience mild diarrhea as stagnant bile is being released. I did not experience diarrhea from this phase any time that I’ve done this cleanse. If using 2 tsp is too strong for you, you can cut back to 1 tsp. You can also use up to 3 tsp of malic acid per day. The more you use, the better your end results of flushing will be.
If you have a hard time with the flavor, you can mix this prep drink with apple juice instead of water. However apple juice is not recommended if you have issues with candida or parasites, or are diabetic.
During days 1-6 you may also choose to take a Digestive enzymes with meals, if desired.
It is optional but highly recommended to use castor oil packs and red light therapy over your liver area every day from days 1-5 of the prep phase.
Directions for cleansing on DAY 6
You are still drinking your prep phase drink today (Malic acid/tincture mix) and you need to get it all in before 3pm today. Make sure to hydrate very well this morning also. I like to drink a lot of coconut water (but not while also cleansing candida or parasites) or bone broth with a bit of Real Salt added.
On day 6, eat a light breakfast and lunch with no fat. This enables the bile in your liver to accumulate, putting pressure in your liver. This pressure will eliminate more stones in your liver. Do not eat anything after 3 pm on the 6th day, with the exception of water at only certain times. (no sooner than 30 min after magnesium salt mixtures and 2 hours after grapefruit mixture.)
At 6:00 PM, the same day, mix the entire packet of magnesium salts in 3 cups of water, all into one quart sized jar. Shake very well until fully dissolved, then drink 3/4 cup of this mixture.
At 8 PM, drink another 3/4 cup of this mixture. Get all your chores done for the evening, and prepare for the flush. You shouldn’t be doing ANYTHING after doing a liver flush, just lying down and sleeping.
5. at 9:30 pm, if you had not yet had a bowel movement since drinking the first dose of magnesium salts, it is recommended to take a water enema to trigger bowel movement.
6. At 9:45 PM, pour 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil into a jar. Squeeze the entire grapefruit into the mix, removing the pulp with a fork. You should have 1/2 to 3/4 cups of grapefruit juice mixed with 1/2 c olive oil in the jar. Close the jar, and shake it very hard until it is all emulsified.
7. At 10 PM, drink this mixture. You may drink it through a large straw if that makes it easier for you. It is best to chug it all straight down, but do not take more than 3 minutes to drink it.
8. Lay down in your bed as soon as you are done drinking. This is crucial, and many people do this wrong. Don’t do any work, don’t even bother brushing your teeth! Just lay down immediately! Lay on your right side, with your knees up towards your chin for at least 20 min. Stay still, and try not to move at all. Try to sleep. If at any time during the night you feel the urge to have a bowel movement, please do so. You can check to see if there are gallstones floating in the toilet. They may be green or tan. You may also feel nauseated from the sudden outpouring of toxins and gallstones from the liver and gallbladder. This is normal, although i have not felt it doing this cleanse. It should pass by morning.
The morning after- Day 7
The next morning, when you wake up, but not before 6 am, drink a 3rd dose of your 3/4 cup of magnesium salts. You can go back to sleep afterwards if you choose.
Two hours later, at 8 am, drink the last dose of magnesium salts.
Wait 2 more hours before consuming anything, and start with fresh squeezed juice, broth, or more organic apple juice. An hour after that you may eat regular, but light, food. You will continue to have liquid bowel movements throughout the morning and afternoon, and should be seeing gallstones in them. You may feel run-down, as your liver and gallbladder have undergone major “surgery”, without the complications, side-effects, and expense. It is also normal to experience slight pressure or discomfort in the liver area, as an effect of the movement of sludge and stones.
Many, myself included, choose to do a coffee enema in the afternoon or evening of Day 7, to ensure that any gallstones that were released get flushed out.
Now, because those frequent movements might be irritating after a while, this salve will help soothe your booty! Use where it stings.
This is a balm you’ll also want to have on hand for many other things. It’s what you’ll reach for when someone in the home is dealing with any type of rash, irritation, chapped skin, diaper rash… I could go on and on.
The star ingredients-
Plantain
Plantain has long been considered by herbalists to be a useful remedy for cough, wounds, inflames skin, dermatitis, and insect bites.
It is high in vitamin A, allantoin, linoleic acid, oleanolic acid, sorbitol and tannin which all promote wound healing, speed up cell regeneration and have skin-softening effects. It can be used to treat skin disorders such as wrinkles, skin allergies, and acne.
The latest research by cosmetics industry found plantain to have excellent anti-aging and anti-wrinkle properties. Plantain works on reducing the appearance of fine lines, dark circles under eyes, droopy eyelids and dark spots related to aging.
Calendula
Calendula can be used to relieve many types of skin conditions that may cause dry, itchy, or irritated areas. It soothes skin of eczema, dermatitis, and dandruff. By promoting the production of collagen, an essential protein for glowing skin, Calendula aids in sustaining soothed, hydrated skin.
Calendula has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that might make it useful in healing wounds and relieving diaper rash. It can help calm redness and inflammation and ease skin discomfort.
Lavender
Ancient cultures believed that lavender helped purify the body and mind.
Lavender contains two inflammation-fighting compounds called linalool and linalyl acetate. A 2020 study suggests that these may provide relief for skin issues, such as:
- eczema
- dermatitis
- psoriasis
- itching
- rashes
- burns
- wounds
- acne
Tea tree oil
*helps balance dry skin and oily skin alike
*helps clear eczema, psoriasis, and other rashes
*antibacterial to help with acne
*anti-fungal, helps with Candida
*helps with itching
*fights all types of infection
*helps heal wounds
Congrats on completing this cleanse! We would love to hear your experience! Did you pass lots of stones? Some sludge? How do you feel afterwards? Even if you didn’y pass stones, you most definately passed lots of sludge and toxins. Many people find their best results from repeating this flush several months in a row, taking a 3 week break between flushes. In doing so, you will likely find you pass more stones or bigger stones with each subsequent flush. I also highly recommend continuing a single daily dose of 20 drops of the Detox Tincture, to maintain your results!
