Description
A tincture is an infusion of an herb or herbs, for medicinal use. Certain preparations of liquids are used to extract the beneficial plant compounds out of the plant solids. My tinctures are highly concentrated so a few drops goes a long way. To use a tincture, simply add a few drops to a glass of water and drink it. All of our bottles are labeled with instructions.
Wormwood Tincture
Wormwood's name stems from its historical use as an antiparasitic.
Traditionally, wormwood is regarded as a useful remedy for liver and gallbladder problems. Wormwood contains strong bitter agents known as absinthin and anabsinthin, which stimulate digestive and gallbladder function. Wormwood is believed to stimulate digestion and relieve spasms in the intestinal tract.
Wormwood has proven benefits for people with Crohn's disease and arthritis. It can also remove unwanted parasites.
A small study showed that wormwood can improve pain and reduce swelling in the body. Some people use wormwood to relieve the pain and swelling caused by rheumatoid arthritis.
Wormwood should not be used for more than 2 weeks in a row. It is not safe for children under 8 years old, nor for pregnant or nursing mothers. Please consult your personal healthcare practitioner about using this herb.
